HUSBAND SURPRISES ME WITH OUR HONEYMOON PT. 1
Picking out where you're going to spend your honeymoon is such a hard choice! Luckily, my AWESOME husband took that right off of my plate. He surprised me with one amazing honeymoon! Yes. I said SURPRISED! I had no clue up until we were at the airport. Some people thought I was insane but Wyatt and I waited until marriage to travel together. He knew how much I longed to travel so I trusted him to choose the perfect place! Which he very well did!
So the only thing I was told was that I needed my passport, how long we were going for, and to pack for tropical weather! I did exactly that, and after a long 5 months of waiting to finally find out where we were going, he told me. I mean Wyatt waited until the last second to say it!! We were about to pull into the airport and he says " WE ARE GOING TO MEXICO!!" I was so excited!!! A lot of other places around the Caribbeans were still in the process of getting cleaned up after the hurricane season so I was definitely worried about that but Wyatt chose the perfect place and it was breathtaking! We stayed at a brand new all-inclusive resort: UNICO HOTEL RIVIERA MAYA. It was absolutley stunning!!
Pictures do not even do it justice!! Unico had just opened a few months prior to our honeymoon so the place was brand new. We flew into Cancun then got a shuttle 45 minutes to the resort. As we walked in we were welcomed with just a kind staff! The whole week was a dream. The food was phenomenal, the drinks were quite yummy, the hospitality there was so genuine and fun! I even celebrated my 20th birthday in Mexico!! One day we left the resort and went ziplining, drove ATV's through mud, then rinsed off in some swimming hole all in the middle of some jungle!! We also swam with dolphins but sadly I don't have the pictures of that!!
I recommend Unico to everyone! Our suite was amazing and included a stunning view of the clear blue water and white sand beach. Every night we came back to our room to a new bottle of champagne and a nice hot bath on the terrace. It was magical. I couldn't have asked for a better place to spend the first days as one with my husband.
I remember one evening we were just hanging out by the pools and I just felt like I needed to go up to the room and read my bible. After spending a few moments with the Lord, I sat on the terrace and looked around. I noticed the color filled sky with a sun that was setting over one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever laid eyes on. In that moment I realized just how privileged we are. My heart was filled with such a crazy amount of gratefulness. God really is true and good god. He provides always. He allows me to see his beauty in everything and I am so thankful for that. I am also thankful to spend a perfect week with the man of my dreams in such a stunning place!
So I've added a few photos below of just some snippets of our honeymoon, what I thought was a perfect ending to an amazing time was only the beginning. Little did I know that Wyatt had also planned to leave Mexico and head to the Grand Canyon for the last few days of our honeymoon! You can find the rest of our honeymoon written HERE!
